Established by Linn W. Duncan in Pittsford in 1960, Duncan Studio has a proud history of artistic excellence.

The studio is now located on the banks of the Erie Canal in a historically charming home constructed around 1815. On the same site in 1789, Isreal Stone constructed the first house in the village next to the Big Spring. By this source of fresh drinking water, where the Native Americans had frequently encamped, only a shaded lagoon attached to the canal provides evidence of the past as well as the perfect setting for the creation of your portrait.

The house also has an exciting past. Built by an Englishman named Plumb, it has been used as an early jail, a shop serving canal traffic, and a home to generations of the Plumb and Eldredge families.

We invite you to stop by and celebrate a moment of your own family's history with us!
